Aims and Scope:
The Journal of Comparative Cultural Studies in
Architecture (JCCS-a) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary
journal that includes the various fields
of social sciences with an emphasis on the built
environment.
This are among others: theory of architecture,
urban design, building construction, history, town
planning, ethnology cultural anthropology, social and
cultural geography. The journal is an interdisciplinary
platform for the debate of comparing cultures from
manifold perspectives, which is lready a fixed
element of the background of the editors and the
editorial board.
The scale of research coverage ranges from studies
drawn from both, the vernacular environment in
primitive societies as well as advanced civilisations
from all parts of the world. The coverage includes
on a micro and a macro scale all studies that are
related to the built environment with an emphasis
on a social and ethnological foundation.
The Journal of Comparative Cultural Studies in
Architecture (JCCS-a) is bilingual (i.e. all articles are
either German or English with extended abstracts in
both languages) and is published twice a year. Each
issue is assigned to a particular topic, but articles
not dealing with the main theme are included as
well.
Audience:
The Journal of Comparative Cultural Studies in
Architecture (JCCS-a) is a scholary publication and
relevant for all who are involved in research and
practice of the built environment with a strong
relation to cultural comparison of regions across the
world. This includes researchers and professionals
from the fields of architecture, town planning, urban
design, history of architecture, ethnology and cultural
anthropology, and others who are concerned with
the physical structures in both, the civilised cultures
as well as vernacular, primitive societies.
Published articles do not necessarily represent the
oppinion of the editors.
This publication may be reproduced, stored or
transmitted, in any form or by any means, when
the source is cited correctly and one copy of the
